How to buy an SSL certificate?

The purchase of an SSL certificate consists of the following steps:

  • Choose in the store the Certum SSL certificate appropriate to your needs and add it to the shopping cart.
  • After selecting the service(s), check the contents of the shopping cart and then confirm the order by clicking the  Proceed to Checkout button
  • If you have not logged into your store account before, choose one of the options:
    1. I am a registered customer with an account in the shop –  Log into your account
    2. I don’t have an account in the shop –  Create a new account in the store
  • Fill in the address information and make sure the data is entered correctly. Data for the certification application will be provided only at the stage of activation of the certificate.
  • Choose the appropriate payment method:
    1. Quick transfer
    2. Standard transfer


Activation of the certificate

Information about placing an order in the Certum shop is sent to the e-mail address given in the order, and the activation process can be started from Your account, in the tab Activate Certificates .


  • Select the certificate you want to activate from the list and click:  Activate
  • The SSL certificate activation process consists of such elements as:
    1. Selecting the key delivery method for the certificate:
      • CSR (Certificate Signing Request) – a request to sign a certificate; The CSR file will be sent to the certifying institution in order to sign it, i.e. create an appropriate public key
      • Generating a key pair – creating a key pair using Certum CryptoAgent application
    2. Entering data for the certificate to the form
    3. Verification of the data entered in the form ( Note : after activation, it will not be possible to change the data in the issued certificate)
    4. Confirmation of the statement
    5. Verification of access to the domain by selecting 1 of 3 verification methods:
      • verification of the administrator’s e-mail address
      • verification by placing the file on the server
      • verification by placing the TXT record in the DNS database
    6. Sending of identity-confirming documents/ company documents depending on SSL certificate type
    7. After positive verification of all the information sent to Certum, a message is sent to the e-mail address specified in the order about the issuance of the certificate

How and when will I receive a proof of payment?

After the payment for the selected SSL certificate has been credited, the invoice will be sent using 1 out of 3 delivery methods (the method is selected during the order placement):

  • To e-mail address (electronic version)
  • To the buyer’s address (traditional version)
  • To the delivery address (traditional version)

How do I pay for my Certum SSL certificate?

We offer our customers two solutions:

  • Quick transfer: via eCard – Card payment, Electronic transfer, PayPal, Blik, Google Pay
  • Traditional transfer: payments can be made by simple transfer using the Internet, at a bank outlet or at the post office.
